This travel plan offers you to visit the town of Copacabana and visit the Basilica of the Virgin of Copacabana, which was built in 1550 and houses the famous sculpture of the Virgin Morena carved in the 1580s by the Inca’s descendant artist Francisco Tito Yupanqui
We also have the opportunity to visit the market of desires (Alacitas) and meet the Yatiris Aymaras (shamans) who perform cures and ceremonies for good fortune.
The second day is the visit to Lake Titicaca and the Islands of the Sun and Moon to explore archaeological remains from Inca period, such as Pilkokaina, climb the steps of the Inca and reach the fountain of Youth. In the afternoon continue the visit to the Island of the Moon and the “Ajllawasi” or house of the virgins of the Sun.

ITINERARY:
Day 01: Transportation from Puno (or La Paz) to Copacabana.
This tour begins with the pick up from your Hotel in Puno (or La Paz) at 7:00 am and board the tourist bus to Copacabana (3 hours trip), along the road that borders Lake Titicaca, you will see impressive landscapes throughout the trip. Arriving to Copacabana you will be settled in the Hotel.
In the afternoon start a guided tour in Copacabana and visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin Morena, the local fair and then walk up to calvary where we find the “Yatiris – Aymaras” (Shamans) who perform cures and ceremonies for good fortune.
Day 02: Tour Titicaca SUN and MOON islands + almuerzo
8:00 am. After breakfast we board the motor boat to the Islands (1hour and 40 min), up on arrival we visit the southern part of the Sun Island (Yumani), where we explore the archaeological remains of “Pilkokaina -Temple.
Later we walk through the steps of the Inca to reach the Fountain of Youth, where you can purify yourself by feeling a little water from the fountain and we will also enjoy the beauty of the Inca garden. Afterwards we will continue ascending through places with spectacular views over Lake Titicaca and snow-capped mountains. Then we have lunch at family restaurant on the island. In the afternoon we continued our trip to Moon Island, arriving to the northern part of the island where we walk up to the archaeological remains of “Iñac Uyu” temple dedicated to the cult of the Moon, also considered as “Ajllawasi” or House of the Virgins of the Sun
In the afternoon is the return to Copacabana, to continue the trip by bus to the city of La Paz or return to Puno (arrival 9.00pm).
